Background:
Since 2007, I have worked in public mental health, crisis intervention, and private practice to support youth, adults, seniors and families in our community. I have worked closely with local social services and am familiar with navigating mental health systems and accessing community resources.
My therapeutic approach is based on a Family Systems perspective, taking into account the social and emotional history of each individual. My interventions are informed by Internal Family Systems and Emotion-Focused Therapy, with significant focus on health attachment, self-compassion and letting go of shame. I gently encourage attention to self-awareness and congruence. As you begin treatment we will work together to decide on an approach that you are comfortable with and identify goals or hopes you would like to work toward.
